US-based streaming service FuboTV has secured distribution agreements with Major League Baseball (MLB) and the National Hockey League (NHL) for their respective broadcast channels.

Subscribers to the over-the-top (OTT) platform will be able to access the NHL Network via either the Fubo Extra or Sports Plus add-on packages, while the MLB Network is set to arrive in the coming weeks.

In addition, access from MLB Strike Zone, the league’s highlights network, will be made available via FuboTV’s Sports Plus package.

As part of its wider content offering, FuboTV also carries the National Football League’s (NFL) and the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) dedicated NFL Network and NBA TV channels.

Ben Grad, FuboTV’s head of content strategy and acquisition, said: “Increasing our sports programming – alongside our industry leading news and entertainment line-up – underscores FuboTV’s leading position as a cable TV replacement for the entire family.”

The move follows an announcement in January that FuboTV had decided to drop 22 Fox regional sports networks (RSN) from its offering, and promised customers that it would bring more sports content to the platform.
