Brewing giant Carlsberg has extended its longstanding sponsorship of Danish soccer side FC Copenhagen.
The company has signed a five-year renewal of its existing agreement, taking its support of the Superligaens club to 2021 and 22 years in total.
Carlsberg, whose headquarters are located in Copenhagen, has been the main sponsor of the capital club since 1999. Financial terms of its renewal have not been disclosed.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with Carlsberg and proud that a brand and a company of their size are showing that they believe so much in us,” said FC Copenhagen chief executive Anders Hørsholt.
“We have a long and glorious common history and Carlsberg’s logo is becoming a regular part of FC Copenhagen’s jersey, next to the club's logo.”
The new deal was announced ahead of FC Copenhagen’s 5-1 Uefa Europa League defeat by Torino on Thursday.
