Australian-owned food company Fantastic Snacks has stepped up its sponsorship of surfing in Australia after agreeing a deal for its Fantastic Noodles brand to title sponsor the Fantastic Noodles Kangaroo Island Pro, a 6-Star ASP World Tour event.

The event, set to take place at Vivonne Bay in November, offers a total prize fund of US$145,000 and attracts over 150 of the world's best surfers.

Commenting on the deal, Surfing South Australia chief executive Steve Reddy said: "Surfing South Australia are thrilled to work with Fantastic Noodles on this event and that they continue to support the sport of surfing."

He added: "Fantastic Noodles have been the major corporate partner of surfing in South Australia for the past four years, so it's fitting that they now have the naming rights to the Fantastic Noodles Kangaroo Island Pro."

Fantastic Noodles have a history of sponsoring surfing, having title sponsored the Fantastic Noodles Pro Junior since 2008, the Fantastic Noodles Intense Wave Invitational 2009, the state junior titles series and the surfing television show, Next Wave.

Michael Neale, head of sales and marketing at Fantastic Snacks, said: "This is the most exciting thing we have done with surfing since the Fantastic Noodles Intense Wave Invitational in '09. The surfing community has been a great supporter of Fantastic Noodles – you can understand why, surfing in the cold southern seas – and Fantastic Noodles wants to support our faithful customers in the surfing community through this event."
