Euro 2020 hospitality brief goes to Match in seven countries

Exclusive sales deal covers Spain, Portugal and Russia.

Uefa, European soccer’s governing body, has named Match Hospitality as the exclusive sales agent in seven countries for next year’s European Championship.

The deal will see the company exclusively market hospitality packages for the international soccer tournament in Spain, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Mexico, Peru and Colombia.

Match will utilise its local presence and established client relationships in those markets to drive sales for Euro 2020, which is being held across 12 cities to mark the 60th anniversary of the first of edition of the tournament.

Earlier this year, Uefa appointed agency giant IMG as the exclusive hospitality sales agent for the tournament in the UK and Ireland.

Jaime Byrom, executive chairman of Match Hospitality, said: “Having delivered truly ground-breaking official hospitality programmes for some of the biggest sporting events in the world, our global team understands the sports hospitality market in the countries in which we have been appointed and the desire and passion in these countries for European football.”

Philippe Margraff, Uefa’s head of revenue operations, added: “We are happy to team up with Match Hospitality for the sales of the official Uefa Euro 2020 hospitality programme in seven territories across the world. We believe that this sales partnership is especially beneficial given Match Hospitality's recent experience at 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia.”

Euro 2020 will be the 16th edition of the competition, and is scheduled to take place from 12th June to 12th July next year.
