Washington, DC-based sports management group Monumental Sports & Entertainment has inked an agreement with EnviroSolutions, making the local waste and recycling company an official partner of the Verizon Center as well as National Hockey League (NHL) side the Washington Capitals and the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Washington Wizards.

As part of the agreement, EnviroSolutions will take control of all waste removal services for the Verizon Center.

EnviroSolutions will also benefit from in-arena LED signage during games, and are set to run experiential marketing opportunities at Wizards and Capitals games. Both teams play their home matches at the Verizon Center.

“We are thrilled to partner with EnviroSolutions,” said Patrick Duffy, senior vice president of corporate partnerships for Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Their responsiveness to our needs and expertise in providing environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions for waste and recycling services is top notch in the region.”

Dean Kattler, chief executive of EnviroSolutions, added: “From our drivers to leadership and everyone in between, we are extremely excited to partner with such outstanding sports franchises as the Capitals and Wizards and a world-class venue like Verizon Center. This is truly an honor for us.”

As well as the Verizon Center, the Capitals, and the Wizards, Monumental Sports & Entertainment also owns the Arena Football League (AFL) franchise Washington Valor, and the Women’s NBA side the Washington Mystics.

The Verizon Center has a 20,000 capacity and hosts around 220 events each year.
