Eleven Sports Network has acquired the exclusive media rights in Poland to Formula One.
The new multi-year agreement will see the network show all 21 Grands Prix this season, including Friday and Saturday practice and qualifying sessions and each feature race on Sundays.
Eleven, which launched with two HD channels in Poland last year, will show live coverage from the races as well as delayed and repeat programming.
The network has acquired the rights from MP & Silva, which signed a long-term deal in December 2013 to distribute Formula One rights in multiple territories, including Poland.
Eleven is owned by MP & Silva founder Andrea Radrizzani, who scaled back his involvement in the day-to-day running of the agency after starting his new broadcasting venture but still retains a shareholding.
“Formula One is full of excitement and tension, and is precisely the sort of breath-taking entertainment we want to give our subscribers in all our markets,” said Danny Menken, the group managing director at Eleven.
“Motor racing fans in Poland will be able to catch all the high-speed action from what promises to be a significant season and we’re proud to be able to deliver this F1 history to them.”
This year’s Formula One world championship begins with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne next month.
