Cincinnati Reds to open BetMGM Sportsbook at Great American Ball Park

MLB franchise agrees official sports betting partnership ahead of gambling legalisation in Ohio.

Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Cincinnati Reds are set to open a new sportsbook at their Great American Ball Park home through a new partnership with BetMGM.

The agreement, which designates the firm as the Reds’ official sports betting partner, comes with the legalisation of gambling in Ohio from January 2023.

The new BetMGM Sportsbook will be situated on the northeast side of the ballpark and will allow fans to place wagers during games.

The deal marks the betting brand’s second MLB venue sportsbook, after a deal with the Washington Nationals saw an in-person location created at Nationals Park in January.

The deal with the Reds will also see BetMGM gain brand visibility throughout the Great American Ball Park and see new VIP experiences created for fans. The BetMGM Sportsbook platform will also Reds fans expanded betting options.

Doug Healy, chief financial officer of the Cincinnati Reds, added: “With sports gaming coming to Ohio, the Reds sought to bring the highest quality operator to our ballpark for those fans who choose to participate in sports gaming.

“BetMGM is renowned for their expertise in entertainment and sports gaming, and we believe their brand best fits our high customer standards and will also help draw visitors to our city.”

The Reds join BetMGM’s roster of sports partnerships that also includes league-wide deals with MLB and the National Hockey League (NHL), as well as the New York Knicks and Rangers, the PGA Tour and the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL).

“Today’s announcement marks the beginning of our plans to create the most entertaining and dynamic sports betting experiences in Ohio,” said Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM chief executive.

“Through our relationships with the Reds and MGM Northfield Park, we look forward to bringing unique BetMGM content to Ohio’s passionate sports fans.”
