Subscription sports broadcaster and streaming platform Eleven has agreed a deal to broadcast Club Deportivo Guadalajara’s home matches in more than 100 countries during the 2021/22 Liga MX season.
Fans of the Mexican side around the world will be able to access free coverage of Chivas’ home league games both live and on demand via the ElevenSports.com streaming platform.
In addition to the men’s Liga MX games, the deal also includes the women’s team’s Liga MX Femenil fixtures, as well as select youth team matches and other programming.
Liga MX television rights are sold on a team-by-team basis, both domestically and internationally, which allows Chivas to partner directly with Eleven.
The Mexican soccer giants are among the country’s most popular clubs, claiming an estimated 39 million supporters across the US and Mexico.
“We’re truly excited that we can both help bring one of Mexico’s most famous, historic, and best supported teams in Chivas de Guadalajara to more of their dedicated fanbase than ever before and uncover new supporters”, said Pedro Presa, Eleven’s chief direct-to-consumer officer.
“From the intense and world-famous El Súper Clásico to being able to showcase the incredible growth and quality of Liga MX Femenil from the spectacular Estadio Akron, our collaboration with Chivas de Guadalajara has so much to offer to their fans worldwide via our global platform ElevenSports.com.”
Olimpia Cabral, head of marketing, sales and communications at Chivas, added: “Chivas continues to be a pioneer in Mexico helping to internationalise our league. And there’s no better way to do it, than working with a company like Eleven, which is a leader in the industry of sports content.”
