- Reed brought in to help support company’s expansion in the US
- Announcement coincides with launch of new golf line
- Andy Murray, Owen Farrell, Jos Buttler and Adam Peaty also on Castore’s books
Castore has added US golfer Patrick Reed to its growing roster of athlete ambassadors, in a move that marks the British sportswear brand’s first partnership in golf.
The announcement of Reed, winner of the 2018 Masters and current world number seven, coincides with the launch of a new Castore golf line, which includes jackets, a zip top and a selection of polo shirts.
Bringing in Reed as its first athlete from outside the UK will also act as a catalyst for Castore to drive growth in the US in the coming months.
Reed has been without an apparel partner after the end of his deal with Nike at the close of 2020. Since then, he has been wearing G/Fore clothing and a Titleist cap, though neither are official apparel sponsors for the 30-year-old.
Castore founder Tom Beahon said: “[Reed] is a man who is living proof that years of practice and dedication will pay off immensely – he has lived and breathed the game of golf since the day he was born. Patrick is the embodiment of the Castore philosophy to sport.”
The other athletes in Castore’s ranks include England rugby union captain Owen Farrell, Cricket World Cup winner Jos Buttler and Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty.
In addition, Castore has a deal with tennis great Andy Murray, who is also a shareholder in the company.
