National Rugby League (NRL) team Canberra Raiders has announced a restructuring to two of the club's commercial partnership.
The first revision sees Australian alcohol retailer Local Liquor move its logo from the sleeve of the Raiders' playing shirts to the teams shorts.
Meanwhile Capitol Chilled Foods Australia brand Canberra Milk will continue as major sponsor of the Raiders, however, its logo will no longer feature on the team's playing kit.
According to a statement on the Raiders' official website, 'The move from Local Liquor and Canberra Milk has allowed the Raiders to bring a new sponsor on board for the 2013 season, with Defence Housing Australia last month announcing their new association with the Green Machine as sleeve sponsor.'
“Canberra Milk and Local Liquor are fantastic sponsors of the Raiders and to have their continued support in these new roles shows the confidence these local brands have in our organisation,” said Raiders chief executive Don Furner. “Canberra Milk has been with the club as a sponsor since we were formed in 1982, while Local Liquor has been on the sleeves of the jersey since 2007.”
Canberra Milk managing director Garry Sykes added, “We’ve had a long and proud history working alongside the Raiders right from their inception and its great news that we can announce a continuation of our partnership. The Raiders and Canberra Milk are both iconic brands in this local region and we’re proud to represent the people who live in the area.”
Local Liquor's John Krnc said, “Local Liquor and the Raiders have worked well together since we joined them as a major sponsor and we look forward to the new chapter in our association together. Its local partnerships like this that showcase the pride Local Liquor have in their region and their local team in the Raiders.”
