- French pay-TV operator to add social viewing to platform in the future
- LiveLike grows partnership portfolio already featuring Sky, Turner and FloSports
French media giant Canal+ Group has announced a new partnership to bring LiveLike’s audience engagement platform to the MyCanal streaming service.
LikeLike’s suite of live polls, quizzes, predictions and alerts were made available during Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 win over Rennes on 7th November.
Canal+ says it will add further interactive and social viewing features to the MyCanal service in the future.
The move sees Canal+ follow the likes of Turner Sports, Sky Sports and FloSports in using the New York-based company’s new engagement solutions.
Samuel Westberg, LiveLike’s chief commercial officer, said: “Having grown up in France both watching and playing soccer, it is an honour to have Canal+ as our first partner in the country.
“They were amongst the first European broadcasters to believe and invest in digital and their app is second to none on the continent. We are thrilled that they trust us to power the next phase of their audience engagement strategy.”
LiveLike’s SaaS toolkit includes features such as spoiler-free co-watching, gamification, interactivity, influencer-led chats and brand integration opportunities. In the UK, pay-TV broadcaster Sky Sports uses the platform to enhance its digital Premier League offering, while in the US Turner Sports deploys it to enhance the network’s digital National Basketball Association (NBA) coverage.
