Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise esports competition has announced the sponsors for its inaugural season, with seven partners in total signed up.
In terms of new additions, the United States Air Force has signed on as a brand partner, in a one-year deal, while Outerstuff and Mitchell & Ness have been added as licensees for player kits and headwear respectively.
As the CDL undertakes its first season as a city-based franchise competition – mirroring Activition’s Overwatch League – Mountain Dew, PlayStation, SCUF Gaming and Astro Gaming have all returned as partners of Call of Duty esports under the new model.
Mountain Dew has agreed a deal to be the official CDL beverage until 2022; Astro Gaming is the official headset through 2022; SCUF holds the official controller category through 2021; while PlayStation 4 is official platform in 2020.
Brandon Snow, chief revenue officer for Activision Blizzard’s esports league, said: “We couldn’t be prouder to have these incredible brands as partners for the inaugural Call of Duty League season.
“Our partners not only support the players on their mission to win the first Call of Duty League Championship, they provide our fans around the world a better experience while attending Home Series matches or streaming at home.”
The 2020 Call of Duty League season begins on 24th January, launching in Minneapolis.
