The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced a one-year extension of its global partnership with banking giant HSBC.

The deal sees HSBC retain its title sponsorship of the BWF World Tour until the end of next year, with the badminton governing body also opting to extend its existing hosting contracts for another year, as it gets back on track after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The BWF first signed a four-year partnership with HSBC in 2018.

The HSBC deal comes after the BWF announced the extension of another major sponsorship last month. Energy firm TotalEnergies’ broad agreement, which includes title sponsorship of a host of the body’s major events, will now run until 2025.

The 2021 season of the BWF World Tour closes with three tournaments to be played in Bali and Indonesia, before the World Tour finals are set to take place from 1st to 5th December.
