The Buffalo Bills National Football League (NFL) franchise has announced a new long-term partnership with energy services firm BlueRock Energy.
Under the deal the company, which supplies energy to business and residential customers across the US state of New York, becomes the Bills’ official electricity supplier.
To launch the partnership, BlueRock Energy will sponsor the Bills’ 2013/14 season opener against the New England Patriots. Throughout the week leading up to the game, the company will be featured prominently across the Bills’ various media channels.
“BlueRock Energy was a company we knew we wanted to partner with from our first meeting,” said Bruce Popko, the Bills’ senior vice president of business development. “BlueRock Energy has a vast knowledge of the energy market in New York state and that knowledge is going to serve Ralph Wilson Stadium well in the future.
“Couple that with their plans to enhance our fans’ in-stadium experience and this has the makings of a truly great partnership.”
In addition to sponsoring the Bills’ opening game week, BlueRock Energy will also run a number of fan-related activities over the course of the partnership, such as sponsoring a ‘Fan Energy Meter’ that will be integrated into the video board at Ralph Wilson Stadium and offering weekly prizes through social media.
“We are thrilled to have been named as the exclusive electricity provider of the Buffalo Bills, as well as a major sponsor of the Bills for the next several years,” added Phil Van Horne, the chief executive of BlueRock Energy.
“The Bills have been a staple of Western New York tradition for decades, and have the most loyal and supportive fan base in the NFL. We look forward to teaming up with the fans, business community and all of those who count themselves as part of Bills Nation, for years to come.”
