Spanish soccer giants Barcelona have signed a sponsorship deal with 1xBet, which will see the online betting company become a global partner of the La Liga champions through until June 2024.

As part of the deal, 1xBet will have access to Barcelona’s players to create promotional and marketing campaigns in order to boost brand reach.

The gambling firm, which has offices in Europe, Asia and Latin America, already has sponsorship deals in place with Serie A, the Italian top-flight soccer division, and English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The new agreement comes as a welcome boost for Barcelona, who are set to see deals worth a combined €15 million (US$17 million) a year with Gillette, Audi and Lassa end at the conclusion of the 2018/19 season. 1xBet replace Betfair in the sponsorship category, with the UK-based betting exhange also deciding against extending its deal with fellow La Liga club Sevilla.

Josep Pont, head of commercial on Barcelona’s board, said: “We are convinced that this deal with 1xBet will help us to continue to grow both on and off the field. This deal consolidates our global expansion strategy and we are sure that it will help us to connect with new sports fans all around the world.”
