The Arizona Coyotes have announced a multi-year partnership with Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona that sees the non-profit become the National Hockey League (NHL) team’s official helmet sponsor for home games.

Under the new agreement, Goodwill’s logo will feature on the Coyotes’ helmets immediately. Although financial terms were not disclosed, the deal is worth almost US$1 million, according to Arizona-based sports outlet PHNX Sports

As well as gaining helmet inventory, Goodwill will also receive other brand signage during games at the Mullett Arena, and will be promoted across the Coyotes’ social media platforms throughout the season.

Goodwill and Arizona State University will launch a ‘Round Up at the Register’ initiative at all stadium food service stations at the team’s Mullett Arena home and will collaborate with the Coyotes on other outreach programmes.

“This partnership with one of the Valley’s most respected social enterprises aligns with our focus on impact and our efforts to leverage the power of sports to make a difference in our community,” said Xavier A. Gutierrez, president and chief executive of the Coyotes.

“We are extremely proud to have the Goodwill brand represented on our home helmets at Mullett Arena this season.”

Tim O’Neal, chief executive of Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, added: “We’re excited to partner with the Arizona Coyotes and create solutions that uplift the entire community.

“The helmet sponsorship is the first phase of our collaboration. By working together, we can help Arizonans find jobs that offer sustainable living wages.”
