The National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Angel City have named US car brand Chevrolet as their latest founding partner.
The deal places Chevrolet into the same third-level sponsorship tier as eight other brands, including Therabody, Heineken and Diageo’s Jane Walker whiskey line. Angel City have confirmed, as per all of the franchise’s commercial deals, the tie-up with Chevrolet will see ten per cent of partnership revenue redistributed back to community causes.
The Detroit-based car manufacturer will provide a new fleet of vehicles for the Los Angeles-based club’s content, community and street teams. Chevrolet will also offer tickets and free transport for 100 Angel City fans to attend each home game as part of the agreement.
In addition, the contract covers integrations into digital content, plus workshops for Angel City players and staff led by General Motors’ finance department.
“Together with Chevy, we are ensuring that the youth and families of our impact partners in some of the most traditionally underserved areas of the city get to take part in all aspects of the ACFC experience,” said Catherine Dávila, head of community at Angel City.
“A minimum of 100 community members will attend each home match, free of charge, with full transportation to and from the stadium provided by Chevy. We are grateful to Chevy and the General Motors family for their support of ACFC on so many levels and really look forward to bringing the partnership to life.”
