Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the home of Formula One’s US Grand Prix and a North American leg of action sports series the X Games, has appointed Jason Dial as president.
Dial joins COTA having most recently served as the chief marketing officer of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Football League (NFL) franchise. The 44-year-old also spent over 18 years with Procter & Gambles, rising to the position of director of global sports marketing.
He will report to COTA chief executive Steve Sexton and oversee the day-to-day business operations for the circuit and the Austin360 Amphitheatre.
“Circuit of The Americas catapulted onto the sports landscape last year, and I am eager to join COTA at such an important time in the company’s history,” Dial said. “The 2012 Formula One United States Grand Prix was just honoured as ‘Sports Event of the Year.’ The addition of the ESPN X Games is a great new platform for growth, and we’re ready to take things to the next level. I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the best brands in the world and grow them through a consistent, strategic framework and consumer-first approach to doing business.”
