Telecommunications giant Orange has agreed a deal with digital sports media company DAZN to distribute a new linear network in Spanish commercial premises, including bars and restaurants.

The DAZN Fútbol channel will offer subscribers access to its portfolio of live soccer content, including English soccer’s top-flight Premier League, for €30 (US$35.7) per month without a fixed-term contract, and is accessible via Orange’s Love Empresa and Orange TV Bares digital offerings

Following recent moves towards broader linear distribution in Germany and Italy, the deal with Orange marks the first time that a DAZN platform is made available outside of Spanish homes.

For Orange, the deal grows its soccer offering in Spain, where it is now able to offer commercial customers the Premier League alongside domestic soccer’s La Liga top flight, as well as the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League European competitions.

Paul Sexton-Chadwick, DAZN’s senior vice president of global commercial propositions, said: “As DAZN continues to roll out around the world, the launch of our commercial premises offering in Spain is a key part of our strategy to extend the DAZN viewing experience to the out-of-home market.”

With a renewed growth ambition focusing on existing operational markets, DAZN has also expanded its content offering in Japan, including the launch of a new soccer show called Yabecchi Stadium.

The programme, which debuts on 29th November, will feature original soccer content, as well as highlights from the domestic J.League top flight.
