Top speakers join impressive line-up for Beyond Sport Summit 2012
Olympic legend Michael Johnson speaks at the Beyond Sport Summit 2011 in Cape Town. The Beyond Sport Ambassador will be one of a host of high-profile speakers at this year's Summit in London in July.
Beyond Sport, a global organisation that uses sport to create positive social change across the world, has announced that a number of leading figures from the worlds of sport, business and politics are set to speak at this year's Beyond Sport Summit, which this year will be staged in London from 23rd to 25th July.
The latest announcement from Beyond Sport sees former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, chief executive of Barclays Bob Diamond, world-renowned chef Jamie Oliver and Unicef UK president Lord Paddy Ashdown added to an already impressive line-up that includes a host of other key speakers from different sectors.
The aforementioned names will join sporting legends Michael Johnson, Bob Beamon, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and John Amaechi on a range of panels, keynote address, break-out sessions and workshops in an attempt to explore a range of issues around sport's role as a tool for social change.
The Beyond Sport Summit will also see the announcement of the winner of this year's Beyond Sport Awards, a programme that provides financial support worth UK£2 million annually to projects across the world that use sport to address issues within their communities.
