Sponsorship debate to continue at Düsseldorf Summit
Four high-ranking representatives from the fields of sport, politics and TV media will share their perspectives on the decision to revise the German Interstate Broadcasting Agreement on the main stage at the 6th Sponsors Sports Media Summit.
The unanimous agreement by the sixteen minister presidents of the German federal states three months ago will see a sponsoring ban for public service broadcasters after 8pm, commencing in 2013.
Dagmar Freitag, chair of the Sports Committee, German Bundestag, Dr. Clemens Prokop, president of the German Athletics Association, Zeijko Karajica, chief exectuive of Sport1 and Michael Amsinck, managing director of SportA will all take to the main stage during the summit.
Many sports official foresee a huge loss in earnings and fear that sporting disciplines broadcast on TV channels including ARD and ZDF will die out when the law comes into effect.
The Summit will take place on 19th May at the ISS Dome in Düsseldorf.
