Mondo to supply Olympic Stadium track
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has signed Mondo as an official supplier of London 2012.
Mondo will supply the track and warm-up area for the Olympic Stadium, as well as other athletics equipment such as hurdles, high jump bars and hammer cages. It will also provide surfaces and sprung flooring for indoor Olympic and Paralympic sports, including basketball, table tennis and goalball. The tier three deal is likely to be worth around US$10 million.
Seb Coe, the chairman of Locog, said: "I set my first world record and won Olympic medals on Mondo tracks so I know they will provide world-class products and services for London 2012. We look forward to working with them between now and 2012 to provide all athletes coming to the Olympic and Paralympic Games with top-class facilities and equipment. This is another example of the innovative approach we are taking to our commercial programme, bringing world-class suppliers to the table."
Locog have also announced that Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung will be the presenting partners of the Olympic torch relay, which reaches British shores on 18th May 2012.
