British horse racing close to new terrestrial television deal
The UK's racecourses will pay Channel 4 nearly US$5 million in return for a three-year terrestrial television deal, according to reports.
According to the Racing Post, 'all parties are increasingly hopeful (the deal) will finally be signed, sealed and announced to the world by the end of this week.'
'Racing UK, charged with representing the majority of racecourses, expects to unveil details of the long-awaited 2010 to 2012 contract "in the very near future",' adds the specialist newspaper.
