Tottenham to capitalise on void left by Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur's shirt sponsorship is expected to be one of the most sought after advertising spaces in English soccer, with the majority of the Premier League's other top-end clubs tied into long-term partnerships.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all signed new long-term shirt sponsors this calendar year - in United and Liverpool's case, setting a world record level for shirt sponsorship, some £20 million per season, since eclipsed by Real Madrid.

Tottenham's north London rivals Arsenal, meanwhile, have a long-term contract with Emirates. Everton, who have finished fifth in the last two years, are currently in talks expected to lead to an extension of their partnership with Chang beer, while Aston Villa, sixth in the last two seasons, have donated their shirt sponsorship to local charity Acorns.

That leaves the way clear for Tottenham to significantly increase the £8.5 million annual figure the club currently receives when its current shirt deal with Mansion expires at the end of the season. With Spurs committed to building a new training ground - expected to be the best in Europe - as well as a new stadium, the club is keen to maximise its commercial potential.

The club is believed to be keen to seize the moment, since it is currently surpassing many people's expectations for the new season. The team have taken 16 points from the opening eight games of the Premier League campaign and sit third in the league table.
