Scottish champions issue share capital
Rangers, the champions of the Scottish Premier League, have issued share capital of £10,879,150 as the club's principal shareholder, Murray International Holdings Limited, revealed it was considering its future at Ibrox.
'The share capital is represented by 108,791,499 fully paid-up ordinary shares of 10 pence each,' said a statement from the club, which also insisted that, while MIH was considering its options, 'this may or may not lead to MIH disposing of some or all of its stake in the club to a third party.'
Sir David Murray resigned as the chairman of Rangers in August, saying at the time: "For the last 20 years I have been actively involved in the club on an almost daily basis and I think that now is the right time to take a step back. I have said many times that being the chairman of Rangers is not something anyone should do forever and I have personal and business interests outside the club I would like to pursue."
