Former Liverpool boss to speak at Soccerex

Former Liverpool coach Gerard Houllier and South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, who won the World Cup with Brazil, have joined Sepp Blatter and Franz Beckenbauer on the list of speakers for the Soccerex 2009 conference.

Houllier, who has coached the France national team and Lyon as well as the English club, will tackle subjects including the ownership of players and clubs. Parreira and South Africa 2010 chief executive Danny Jordaan will join Ricardo Teixeira, president of the 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil, to discuss the two tournaments.

Liverpool themselves are amongst the teams to sign up for one of world soccer's biggest networking events. Other famous names such as Chelsea, Benfica, Aston Villa and Stuttgart will also attend the Soccerex 2009 Global convention in South Africa. Alongside the clubs are a host of top commercial names, including Adidas, Nike, Siemens, McDonald's and Carlsberg.

The conference runs between 28 November and 2 December in Johannesburg, and will feature hundreds of attendees representing internationally-renowned brands and football clubs, all of them are looking to use Soccerex as an opportunity to do business. The event consists of a two day football festival and a three day conference and exhibition.
