Celtic FC continue recovery from Setanta collapse with broadcast plans

Fans of Celtic FC, whose official club channel was taken off-air following the collapse of the British arm of Irish broadcaster Setanta last year, will be able to use Channel 67 Premium UK to keep up to date with the club's challenge for the Scottish Premier League title.

'Premium UK adds on-demand high-quality Premium video to the existing video available to the Channel 67 Online package, including as-live match replays following each match and access to the Premium archive of highlights, goals and full matches,' reports the Channel 67 website. 'The Huddle online and featured matches are available in Premium quality streams to all Premium UK subscribers.'

Every Celtic match is available to watch delayed as-live on the service, usually from midnight following the match.

Setanta's UK arm collapsed last summer, costing the SPL millions in television revenue. The subsequent deal with ESPN and Sky, which Celtic and Rangers opposed, has left a situation where the SPL champions earn less than the club that finishes bottom of the English Premier League. Celtic and Rangers are both keen to make the move south of the border, but the English clubs voted against their admittance in November.

Celtic, who are currently trailing Rangers by 10 points with a game in hand, were handed a boost last night with the loan signing of Robbie Keane from Tottenham Hotspur.
