Arsene Wenger, coach of English soccer club Arsenal, is not worried about the increasingly likely possibility of America businessman Stan Kroenke taking full control of the Premier League team.

Kroenke has spent another US$1.25 million to take his stake in the club to 28.9 per cent - just one per cent short of the amount that would force him to make an offer for the remaining shares in the club. While it is unlikely Kroenke will be able to secure complete control, especially in the short term, it is a scenario Wenger believes will happen sooner or later.

"As long as the club can be run as it is at the moment, it doesn’t really matter," he told the Daily Telegraph newspaper. "Certainly at some stage, someone will get the majority of the shares. Once somebody reaches 29.9 per cent of the shareholding, they have to make a bid for the club.

"Then he could gain over 50 per cent, and he will be the decider of the club, but he could still decide that the club should continue to run how it is now."
