Ziggo inks Uefa national team rights package

Dutch pay-TV broadcaster Ziggo has signed a four-year agreement with European soccer’s governing body, Uefa, for the rights to a number of major international soccer properties.

Ziggo, which currently holds the third-party rights to European qualifier matches for major tournaments in the 2014/15 to 2017/18 window, retains qualifying games for Uefa Euro 2020 and the 2022 Fifa World Cup, and will also show the new Nations League competition, which replaces international friendlies.

The fixtures will be carried on the Ziggo Sport and Ziggo Sport Totaal channels.

Qualifiers for the 2020 Uefa European Championship, which will take place in 13 cities across the continent, are scheduled to get underway in March 2019.
