Yugoria insure biennial IPC world championships

Russian state insurance company Yugoria has agreed to become the official insurance partner of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing World Championships.

Russian state insurance company Yugoria has agreed to become the official insurance partner of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing World Championships.

Yugoria, through its YugraMegaSport organising body, has agreed to a sponsorship deal worth more than US$2 million enabling them to be named as the official insurers of the biennial event, which takes place in Khanty-Mansiysk between 29th March and 10th April 2011.

The company has also insured the event for US$2.5 million in the event of the cancellation, relocation or postponement of the championships.

102 athletes from 13 different countries will compete at the IPC Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing World Championships in 2011, with Austria, Belarus, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and the United States all being represented.

Yugoria has a history of sponsoring international biathlon events, with the company being named the official insurer of the recent IBU Biathlon World Championship, which took place in Khanty-Mansiyk between 1st and 14th March 2011.
