Japan’s Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Los Angeles Clippers.
The firm, which has its US headquarters in Fullerton, California, becomes the official tyre of the Clippers until the end of the 2014/15 season.
The deal includes court-side signage and LED branding at home games, coverage during radio broadcasts and TV spots during televised games on Prime Ticket and Fox Sports West. Fan promotions will also run later in the season.
No financial terms were announced.

“The Clippers have an extremely loyal fan base and after the success of last season, the support will be even stronger,” said Alan Holtschneider, YTC’s senior manager of marketing communications. “Our relationship with the Clippers will help increase Yokohama’s brand awareness among their fan base, as well as provide opportunities to increase store traffic and sales for our dealers.”
Yokohama already has deals in place with the NFL’s Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, as well as the Cincinnati Reds, LA Angels and New York Yankees of MLB.
