Spanish soccer superstar Xavi Hernandez has been named as a brand ambassador of Audi Qatar, the Qatari arm of the German automotive manufacturer.
Under the terms of the one-year personal endorsement deal, the decorated former Barcelona midfielder will represent Audi Qatar as an honorary spokesperson as well as serving as an opinion leader for it in the local community.
Xavi will have access to a series of Audi’s premium vehicles on a rotational basis. The 2010 FIFA World Cup winner was handed the keys to an Audi R8 to mark the signing of the deal.
37-year-old Xavi won eight top-tier La Liga titles with Barcelona and four editions of the Uefa Champions League, European soccer’s top-tier club competition, as a playmaker for Barcelona, as well the Fifa World Cup and the 2008 and 2012 editions of the Uefa European Championship with Spain’s national team. In 2015, he joined Qatari outfit Al Sadd Club.
