Rugby: The Fiji National Rugby League has extended with its main sponsor Vodafone for a further four years. The deal, which is worth a total FJD$4 million (US$2 million), will see the telecoms giant remain the shirt sponsor of the Fijian national rugby league team, taking the two parties’ relationship up to 15 years.
More rugby: Auckland Rugby League (ARL), the governing body for the sport in the region, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New Zealand Institute of Sport, which will see scholarships awarded to ARL players aged 17 and over.
Cricket: Chinese consumer electronics firm Oppo, which is already a global partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC), has become the official smartphone partner of the 2018 HBL Pakistan Super League T20 competition, which gets underway on 22nd February.
Soccer: Financial services company Beijing WeShare Wealth Asset Management is the new title sponsor of the Chinese Football Association’s (CFA) Super Cup club soccer competition. The pre-season game is contested annually by the winners of the previous year’s Super League and CFA Cup tournaments.
More soccer: Delivery services company FedEx has named retired Dutch soccer legend Ruud Gullit as its ambassador for its third season as the main sponsor of the Uefa Europa League, European club soccer’s secondary competition.
Even more soccer: Top-flight Mexican soccer side Chivas have signed a deal with Italian auto part and accessory brand Sparco, which will be an official partner of the Liga MX team for two years.
Martial arts: American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion the Professional Fighters League has signed an exclusive multi-platform distribution deal with US network NBC Sports Group and social media giant Facebook.
Handball: The Italian Handball Federation (FIGH) has teamed up with the Italian Association for Cancer Research to launch the International Handball Challenge.
Motorcycling: Pirelli Tire North America has confirmed that it will continue as the title sponsor of the ASRA National Sprint Series for the US-based motorcycling championship’s 2018 season.
Motorsport: Stock car racing team JP Motorsports have partnered with commercial cleaning franchise Jani-King, which will be the primary sponsor on Stephen Leicht’s number 55 Toyota Camry for the first three races of the 2018 Nascar Xfinity Series season.
