Visa, one of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) worldwide partners in the Olympic Partner (TOP) programme, has unveiled the list of over 30 Olympians and Paralympians who will make up 'Team Visa' ahead of next year's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio.
Among the biggest names included are US women's soccer captain Carli Lloyd, Brazilian National Basketball Association (NBA) star Tiago Splitter and South Korean gold medallist judoka Kim Jae-bum.
Visa will provide support to all the athletes as they continue their preparations ahead of Rio 2016.
“The IOC has been proud to call Visa a worldwide partner of the Olympic Games for the past 30 years, and their support has helped ensure the continued success of the Olympic Games,” said Thomas Bach, president of the IOC. “The athletes are at the heart of the Olympic Movement, and through the Team Visa programme, Visa has supported young athletes from around the world in achieving their dreams. We look forward to continuing our partnership for many years to come.”
Visa’s commitment to the Olympic Movement began in 1986, and has included sponsorship of all the Olympic Games from 1988 to 2020, and more than 300 sponsored athletes through the Team Visa programme.
