Visa Europe has expanded its partnership with the FIA Formula E Championship for a multi-year period.
The company has agreed a new three-year deal to become the official payment partner of the all-electric motor racing series on a global basis, having originally signed up for the European leg of the inaugural season earlier this year.
Visa Europe will continue to put its name to the Visa Fastest Lap Award, which awards recipients two bonus points on top of any points earned during the race.
Financial terms of the deal have not been released.
“We are delighted that Visa Europe has decided to become the official payment partner of Formula E globally,” said Alejandro Agag, the chief executive of Formula E.
“Last season they demonstrated through the sponsorship of the London ePrix and the Fastest Lap initiative the kind of innovation and leadership on which Formula E thrives.”
The second season of the FIA Formula E Championship gets underway in Beijing on 24th October.
