Headwear brand New Era has announced a licensing deal with India cricket captain Virat Kohli’s new range.
The collection, designed and conceptualised by the 29-year-old India captain, will be manufactured, marketed and distributed globally by New Era.
‘Kohli Signature Headgear’ features the Indian star’s One8 and V logos and has gone on sale exclusively via Jabong in India and neweracap.eu in Europe.
“I have tried to keep things pretty simple because that fits with my style,” said Kohli. “Inspired by what signifies me, this collection is for more than just my fans – it’s for anyone who is passionate about what they do, who lives a boundless life and loves headwear.”
“Virat is one of the world’s finest athletes who inspire millions of fans worldwide,” added Paul Gils, vice president of New Era. “He joins us at a very exciting time for the brand as we continue to build our presence in India.”
“Virat’s style quotient and following is there for all to see on a global scale,” said Bunty Sajdeh, chief executive of Corner Stone, which manages Kohli’s commercial interests. “New Era are the largest headwear licensing company in the world. Their successful associations with the biggest leagues and teams globally are a testament to their quality and commitment. So bringing these two powerhouses was easy.”
