US telecommunications company Verizon has announced a partnership with top-tier Spanish soccer side Barcelona to create a video series chronicling the 2017/18 season.
The programme, Inside Barça, aims to ‘bring in an unprecedented level of access to soccer fans in the US’, and will be shown exclusively on Verizon’s US video streaming service Go90.
Featuring behind-the-scenes content, as well as focusing on the lives of star players and those of their fans from around the globe, the show will include match recaps, previews, commentary and highlights, as well as training ground footage, player reactions, and original content created by the La Liga outfit.
“One year ago we opened our Americas office in New York City with the primary goal of bringing the club closer to its millions of fans here,” said Francesco Calvo, head of global business at Barcelona. “Our partnership with Verizon means we’ll be able to reach more Barça fans, and soccer fans, in the States than ever before - and importantly, on connected devices.
“Now our US fans will have a backstage, insider’s pass to what it’s like to be at Camp Nou for nearly every match. It’s an incredible experience for them, and we’re looking forward to kicking it off this season.”

Barcelona were pipped to the post for the La Liga title by Real Madrid in 2016/17. Their start to the 2017/18 season has put them four points clear at the top of the league, with seven wins in their eight opening games. They beat Greek top-tier team Olympiakos 3-1 in the Uefa Champions League on 18th October, and welcome Malaga to the Camp Nou on Saturday.
