Top-tier Spanish soccer side Valencia have entered into a strategic partnership with Japanese video game developer Konami.
Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series will become the club’s new official gaming partner for the 2017/18 La Liga season. As a result, Valencia will be faithfully recreated in the PES series starting with PES 2018, which will be released across Europe on 14th September 2017.
PES will enjoy strong branding at Los Che’s home ground, the Mestalla Stadium, through pitchside LED boards. The financial terms of the deal have not been released.
“Valencia is a club with a rich history, lots of legends and some exciting talent in the current roster,” said Jonas Lygaard, senior director of brand and business development for Konami Digital. “Valencia CF is loaded with history, home to great successes, and some of the world’s greatest players have come through the ranks here as well, with Mendieta, Kempes and Ayala to name a few.”
Valencia finished 12th in Spanish soccer’s top flight in the 2016/17 season. They kick off their 2017/18 La Liga campaign with a home game against Las Palmas on 18th August.
