USL pens Monument Sports Group deal

The United Soccer League (USL), the second tier of club soccer in the US, has announced a new partnership with sports insurance company Monument Sports Group.

The US-based company will become the official sports insurance agency supplier across all league properties, including the USL Divisions II and III as well as fourth tier, the Premier Development League (PDL), and youth competition, the Super Y League.

Monument Sports will also enjoy a presence at the USL’s annual winter summit in December. The financial terms of the deal have not been released.

“Monument Sports is a leader in the sports insurance industry, and we are thrilled to have them join our Preferred Supplier Program,” said USL president, Jake Edwards. “As USL continues to grow, it is imperative that our clubs understand the exposure and risks specific to our sport. As a specialist in the sports environment and a company with a deep understanding of our league, the Monument Sports Group will continue to serve as an excellent resource.”

“Having been associated with the USL since 1997 has been one of the most rewarding business relationships of my long career,” added Monument Sports president, Mark Grossman. “Our agency has dedicated itself to being the most trusted insurance and risk management partner for the USL home office, teams and players, both professional and amateur.

“It is incredibly gratifying to watch and be a part of the tremendous growth both on and off the field. We take great pride in continuing to help the USL, PDL, Super Y and all of its member teams navigate the often-confusing world of insurance. We look forward to many more years of working together to make USL the best league in sports.”
