Global delivery and logistics company UPS has extended its sponsorship of top-tier German soccer side VfL Wolfsburg for a further year.
UPS will remain as the Lower Saxony club’s logistics partner and it will be their first ever shirt-sleeve sponsor during the 2017/18 Bundesliga season. The Sandy Springs-based organisation will continue to have a strong brand presence at Wolfsburg’s home ground, the Volkswagen Arena.
The financial terms of the one-year renewal were not released.
"With UPS, we have a strong and innovative partner at our side,” said Tim Schumacher, managing director of VfL Wolfsburg. “We want to work together on a long-term basis, which is why all parties are happy that this trusting partnership is continued."
Steffen Grupp, head of sponsoring and events at VfL Wolfsburg, added: "Last year, we developed a very close and good relationship with UPS, on this basis we are convinced that our further cooperation is just as positive as before.”
Wolfsburg, who finished 16th in the Bundesliga in 2016/17, began their 2017/18 campaign with a 3-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund at home on Saturday.
