Univision Deportes acquires European Soccer rights
Hispanic television network Univision Deportes has acquired the US broadcast rights for the German and French national soccer teams, France’s domestic league competition and the German domestic cup.
The exclusive multi-year deal, penned on 6th September, includes the rights to broadcast the home friendly matches of the German and French national sides and all 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers played in Germany and France.
Additionally, the US network will provide coverage of France’s domestic league (Ligue 1), the DFB Pokal, and the French Cup.

President of Univision Deportes Juan Carlos Rodriguez said: “The acquisition of these important European national team matches, league tournaments and first division French league matches serve as a perfect complement to our already robust soccer portfolio from the America’s.” He added: “These acquisitions solidify our commitment to remain the undisputed home for Hispanic sports fans.”
The rights complement Univision Deportes Network’s existing roster of broadcast rights which includes coverage of Major League Soccer, the US national soccer team and the Mexican domestic league.
