United Soccer Leagues lifts Wilson Trophy deal

The United Soccer Leagues (USL), the organiser of lower-tier American soccer competitions, has announced a partnership with Wilson Trophy Company.

Under the terms of the deal, the trophy manufacturer will be the official awards and trophy supplier for all of the USL’s related properties, including the second-tier United Soccer League (USL), the USL Division III, the fourth-tier Premier Development League (PDL) and the Super Y League youth competition.

The length and financial terms of the agreement have not been made public.

Wilson is also an official licensee of Little League International, the youth baseball and softball organiser, and US Youth Soccer.

“We are very pleased to enter this partnership with Wilson Trophy Company, which adds another great organisation to the USL’s Preferred Supplier Program,” said Jake Edwards, president of the USL. “Wilson’s wide range of designs, including customisable trophies and awards, will provide an array of quality and affordable options for clubs across all levels of soccer within the USL.”

“The USL is a fantastic league that we have been hopeful to join forces with since Sacramento Republic FC entered the league ahead of the 2014 season,” added Zack Moro, sales manager at Wilson. “As we have learned more about the league and its other divisions, we felt we would be able to be a true help from the Super Y League up to the USL. We look forward to this partnership and expanding with the USL as it continues to grow over these next few years.”
