Chinese soccer player Deng Hanwen has signed a personal endorsement deal with sportswear brand Umbro.
Deng, who currently plays for Chinese Super League (CSL) side Beijing Renhe, will lend his image to the UK-based soccer equipment supplier’s future advertising campaigns across Asia. Umbro will provide Deng with boots and training apparel over the duration of the contract.
The 22-year old defender becomes the first ever Chinese soccer player to be signed by Umbro in the brand’s 93-year history.
Deng made his debut for the Chinese national team in a 2-0 loss against Iceland during the 2017 China Cup. He has gone on to earn seven caps for his country and scored his first and second goals in an 8-1 win over the Philippines in June.
