Mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced a multi-year partnership with Brazilian event operator IMM.
A joint venture between Mubadala Development and UFC's new owner WME | IMG, IMM will oversee event operations for all UFC Brazil events, including sponsorship and ticket sales for the events via its TUDUS platform.
IMM chief executive Alan Adler has previous experience working on the UFC business from his spell at IMX, the promotion's event operator in Brazil until 2014, when UFC took its management in-house.
As part of the new arrangement Philippe Menezes, UFC’s director of events in Brazil, will transition to IMM, where he will continue to oversee UFC events in the country.
“UFC is excited to be working with Alan and IMM again and will continue to deliver world class live events for our fans in Brazil,” UFC senior vice president of international Joe Carr said. “The partnership will enhance our sponsorship and ticketing capabilities in this market, while allowing the UFC team in Sao Paulo to refocus its efforts on brand growth, content creation, and local athlete development.”
UFC's first Brazilian event of 2017 is scheduled to take place in Fortaleza in 11th March.
