Kitman Labs has signed a strategic partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mixed martial arts (MMA) series.
Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Kitman Labs sports science and medicine programmes will be made available to all athletes competing under the UFC banner when they visit the organisation’s UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.
The Dublin-based company will implement its athlete monitoring systems to assess the health status of the MMA stars throughout their training camps at the state-of-the-art Vegas performance centre. It will collect information from them on a daily basis and provide their coaches with real-time information and player feedback.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Kitman Labs and provide this one-of-a-kind program to UFC athletes,” said James Kimball, UFC vice president of operations. “Kitman Labs are industry leaders in performance analysis and injury analysis, both of which are essential in allowing UFC athletes to compete at the highest level. We look forward to offering this service to our entire active roster to help optimize their performance.”
The UFC Performance Institute is the world’s first MMA multi-disciplinary research, innovation and performance centre. The 30,000-square-foot facility is equipped with a full-time staff of experts in the fields of strength and conditioning, nutrition and physical therapy, at no cost to the promotion’s athletes.
