Toyota title sponsor of Nascar races at Richmond
Toyota has agreed title sponsorship deals for the April Nascar Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series races at Richmond International Raceway from next year.
The 'multi-year' partnerships will see the Japanese car manufacturer put its name to the Toyota Owners 400 Nascar Sprint Cup Series and the ToyotaCare 250 Nascar Nationwide Series race; a double-header due to take place at the Virginia circuit on 26th and 27th April 2013.
Financial terms were not released but based on typical race sponsorships in the two series, Toyota's combined annual spend on the two sponsorships is likely to be around US$2.5 million.
Richmond International Raceway president Dennis Bickmeier said: "These multi-year entitlements will allow Richmond International Raceway to continue delivering the high-quality events our fans have enjoyed for 60 years. To put on these Nascar spectacles, we require two core ingredients: the fans and the sponsors – both of which drive our business and allow us to provide top-notch events."
Elsewhere in US motorsport, Osage Casino has secured the naming rights to Tulsa Raceway Park for the next two years. The deal will also see the casino serve as title sponsor of several events at the circuit.
