Cycling: The International Cycling Union (UCI) has confirmed the hosts of the 2017/18 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup series. The Polish city of Pruszków, the UK city of Manchester, Milton in Canada, Chilean capital Santiago, and Minsk, the capital of Belarus, will all stage three-day events between November 2017 and January 2018.

Winter sports: The American resort of Lake Placid has been awarded the 2021 International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships, beating a bid from St Moritz in Switzerland by 24 votes to 19 at the IBSF Congress in Salt Lake City. The 2018 IBSF Para-Sport World Championships will be held in Lillehammer, Norway.

Horse racing: Juddmonte Farms has become the title sponsor of a seven-race card on 30th September at the UK's Newmarket racecourse.

Equestrianism: Jodphur brand ModJods has agreed a deal with US Equestrian to become an official supplier of the 2018 US Saddle Seat World Cup team.

Volleyball: Poland's nc+ broadcast platform has agreed a deal with the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) for the rights to the Volleyball Champions League, the elite competition for European volleyball clubs, in 2018/19 and 2019/20. Games will be carried across the Canal+, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Sport 2 and nSport+ TV channels and the nc+ GO and Canal+ Sport Online digital services.

Also in volleyball: Joma has become the new apparel partner of Italian women's volleyball team Volleyball Casalmaggiore in a three-year deal.

Softball: The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced that coverage of the 2017 WBSC Men's Softball World Championship will be streamed on as part of a production deal with SportsCanada.TV and Ballpark Broadcasting. The tournament will be held in the Canadian city of Whitehorse, Yukon from 7th to 16th July.
