The Sports Partnership, the London-based athlete management agency set up in January by Formula One driver Jenson Button, has added two-time Olympic gold medal winning cyclist Ed Clancy to its client roster.

The 27-year-old, who is also a five-time world champion, joins a stable of clients that includes several other British sports stars such as Chicago Bulls player Luol Deng, Button's fellow Formula One driver Paul di Resta, and rugby player Danny Cipriani.

The Sports Partnership’s James Williamson, who helped to set up the agency along with Button and the driver’s manager Richard Goddard, said: “Having the chance to work with someone of Ed's calibre is an absolute privilege. Watching Ed and the rest of the GB track team perform at London 2012 was utterly awe-inspiring and we're excited to be a part of his journey to Rio 2016.”

Barnsley-born Clancy added: “I’m excited to be joining The Sports Partnership and, having seen how they’ve successfully worked with other athletes, I feel confident that I have the right team to support my cycling ambitions leading into the Olympics in 2016.”
