Talksport has announced it will be the official commercial radio broadcaster of Euro 2012 in the United Kingdom.
The news was announced by the station's programme director Moz Dee and will mean Talksport will go head-to-head with BBC Radio 5 Live, which had already secured rights to June's tournament in Poland and Ukraine. Both stations will broadcast all 31 games live.
"Major international sports tournaments are a huge draw for our listeners, as we've found with the Fifa World Cup in 2010 and the Rugby World Cup," Dee said.
Talksport has been steadily increasing its live sport portfolio in recent times, notably acquiring the exclusive UK radio commentary rights on last year's Rugby World Cup. It currently has the rights to broadcast a package of Premier League games, at one time a traditional BBC Radio monopoly.
