Chinese automotive company SWM Motors has become an official regional partner of Italian soccer giants Inter Milan.
Under the terms of the agreement, the manufacturer’s SWM X7 will become the Serie A outfit’s official car for the greater China area. SWM is planning to produce a limited number of Inter-themed X7 cars that will be painted in the club’s famous blue and black colours.
"This partnership is an important step for us, particularly because it sees us increase our presence in Asia," said Michael Gandler, Inter’s chief revenue officer. "SWM is the perfect partner for Inter as we look to expand the club’s activities in the region."
Chinese conglomerate Suning Holdings Group acquired a 69 per cent stake in Inter Milan last year and the club recently announced that they would be playing in the Chinese leg of the International Champions Cup (ICC) pre-season soccer tournament.
